Mississippi Mandatory Continuing Education Rule
RevisionsThe Mississippi Landscape Architecture Advisory
Committee has recently revised the rules and regulations pertaining
to mandatory continuing education. The revisions are attached in
mark-up format so that you can clearly see what changes have been
made. A copy is also provided in without the mark-up for easier

Board's website;

Major changes include:
- Of the 24 CEUs required at biennial renewal,
structured activities must account for at least 16 CEUs. No more
than 8 CEUs can be derived from self-directed activities. Structured
and self-directed activities are defined. (4.05.2-4.05.4)
- Audit requirements are explained in more detail.
(4.06.2 and 4.06.3)
- A person who is audited, and for whom credits are
disallowed, has 90 days to substantiate their initial claim or to
make-up the disallowed credits. Failure to do so will invalidate the
person's renewal and license shall be deemed inactive. (4.06.4)
- The Committee established a penalty fee for late
CEUs. In the case of a late renewal, a person claiming units earned
after December 31 of the reporting period will be assessed a penalty
of $200 plus $25.00 per CEU per month late. (4.07)
